Brenda Finnicum In Berlin during the Cold War
.
She was inspired to enter the service by her uncles who served in WW II. Especially by her fathers brother, a paratrooper, who was a POW in WWII, served in Korea and was killed in Vietnam.
Brenda was the only female and officer in her family to join and retire from the military.

This picture of me was taken when I was stationed in West Berlin, West Germany. (I was a captain then) That was before the wall came down. I am standing next to an East German guard in front of the East German War Memorial. Living 110 miles behind the Iron Curtain, I experienced the "Cold War" first hand.

Brenda is currently retired and researching the history of American Indian women in the military
